PROJECT MANAGER – INTERIORS TEAM
Sixthriver is seeking a Project Manager to join our interiors studio. Candidates will work closely with the Principals, Interior Designers, and the larger consultant design team to take projects through all the phases of design and construction. Your initiative, technical abilities, and collaborative attitude will be integral in the successful delivery of some of the firm’s most important projects. Candidates must have the required qualifications below in order to apply for this position including experience with mixed-use multifamily and/or commercial office type projects.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture or related field
Job Description
The Project Manager will be involved in all phases and aspects of a project including design, documentation, code analysis, bidding, specifications, construction administration and FFE (as required)
The Project Manager must also show ability to coordinate production schedules, coordinate with consultants and in-house staff and communicate directly with clients showing strong verbal and written communication skills.
A significant level of experience with complex Interiors projects is required. This also includes providing strategic and tactical support to the interiors team.
This individual must be forward thinking and have a great eye, excellent technical skills, management experience, detail orientation and have no problem with hands-on work.
Conduct quality assurance/ quality check reviews of each phase of work product and drawings. The candidate should have the ability to identify design and constructability issues in construction documents, and provide guidance and solutions during the design and construction phases accordingly.
Manage and coordinate activities related to permitting and the authorities having jurisdiction.

Required Qualifications and Attributes:
Registered Interior Designer or Architect with 5 years of experience (2-3 of which directly related to management)
The candidate should have experience in developing production schedules
Ability to split time between creative and technical tasks
Knowledge of the design and construction process, technical abilities, code analysis, and permitting aspects
Software skills must include Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Possess a great attitude and contribute to a positive and effective team environment

JUNIOR/INTERMEDIATE LEVEL INTERIOR DESIGN
Sixthriver is seeking a Junior/Intermediate Level Interior Designer to join our interiors studio. Candidates must have the required qualifications in order to apply for this position which should include experience with mixed-use and commercial office type projects. You will work closely with the Principal, Designers and the consultant design team to take projects from the schematic design phase through construction. Your initiative, technical abilities, and collaborative attitude will be integral in the successful delivery of some of the firm’s most important projects
Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Architecture or related field from an accredited institution.
Job Description
Collaborate with Project Manager and Designer to complete project design and documentation from programming & space planning, to design development, construction documentation and construction administration.
Participate in all phases of the design process with the internal and external team, including design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors etc.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years relevant commercial design experience of multiple project types including Corporate, Multi-Family, and/or Hospitality Design.
Good understanding of the design and documentation process
Proven experience with space planning, construction documentation, and construction administration. Furniture & specialty lighting specification experience a plus.
Proficient in review of other disciplines drawings and ability to communicate design intent.
Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects with varying phases of design and timelines
Be proactive and engage in a collaborative approach with projects, fellow coworkers, clients, general contractors and other design disciplines
Must be motivated, organized, exhibit good judgement and resourcefulness, driven to learn and participate in all facets of design
Desire to learn and grow professionally
Possess excellent communication skills, both visual and verbal
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and other visual communication software including Sketch Up, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
Required Attributes:
Capable of understanding design the process: from programming & space planning, to design development, construction documentation and construction administration using Revit
Must have a strong sense of design and aesthetics
Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively
